iblon is the brand name for isoflucypram, an SDHI fungicide featuring broad-spectrum activity.

Vimoy is the fungicide product containing iblon, the brand name for isoflucypram. Vimoy is available as a co-pack with Proline (prothioconazole) called “ion iblon^®”. Other co-packs are available that see Vimoy partnered with different fungicide products.

The minimum supported rate is 1.0 L/ha. This is equivalent to two-thirds (66%) of the maximum individual dose. Below 1.0 L/ha fungicidal efficacy may fall below a level expected.

iblon can be applied at either the T1 or T2 timing but not both. The decision as to when to apply iblon will depend on the disease focus of the grower, the spectrum of activity of other fungicides in the programme, and the extent to which cultural controls such as variety disease resistance can be expected to contribute.

iblon has been shown to deliver greater broad-spectrum activity than other SDHI-based fungicides and has also been found to extend green leaf retention beyond that seen with Ascra^®Xpro^® . Both its broad-spectrum activity and crop greening benefits help to support yield accumulation.
iblon containing fungicides are based on the same Leafshield formulation as the Bayer Xpro range of fungicides meaning it is crop and equipment safe and is rainfast in minutes*.

iblon is currently only approved for use in wheat (winter and spring). Bayer hopes to receive approval for use in other crops beginning with barley in the near future.

Bayer recognises the superior benefits of co-formulated products and intends to bring a range of co-formulations to market. Intended co-formulated products include, among others, those containing prothioconazole, fluopyram and Bayer’s own formulation of fenpicoxamid.

Against Septoria tritici, iblon demonstrates excellent efficacy in both protectant and like most fungicides, limited curative activity in latent infection situations.

Against yellow rust, iblon has been shown to deliver excellent preventative activity. When combined with Proline^® (prothioconazole), curative activity is further enhanced ensuring longer lasting protection and greater flexibility in application timing against this aggressive disease.

As an alternate mode of action, the inclusion of a multi-site fungicide, such as folpet, either in a tank mixture with iblon or in sequence as part of the crop protection programme will support effective resistance management and contribute to the long-term efficacy of all fungicides, including iblon.

There are no sprayer restrictions for iblon. However, Jessico^® One (fenpicoxamid), one of the co-pack partners for iblon, cannot be applied via sprayers featuring PWM.
